Preparation
- Season plant-based ribs evenly with salt and black pepper.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the bottom of the crockpot.
- Place seasoned ribs on top of the onion mixture.
- In a bowl, whisk together vegetable broth, barbecue sauce, and vegan Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour sauce mixture evenly over the ribs.
- Add fresh thyme or rosemary if using.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours.
- Once tender, spoon extra sauce over ribs before serving.
Notes
Sear ribs in a skillet before slow cooking for deeper flavor. Use smoky barbecue sauce for stronger profile. Add carrots and potatoes halfway through cooking. Ensure all sauces are vegan-certified.
