  • 3-4 lbs plant-based rib-style protein (soy, wheat, or pea-based) Ensure high-protein and firm texture for best results.
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Make sure it's vegan-certified.
  • 1 tablespoon vegan Worcestershire sauce Ensure it is fully vegan-certified.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh garlic for better aroma.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Season plant-based ribs evenly with salt and black pepper.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Place seasoned ribs on top of the onion mixture.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together vegetable broth, barbecue sauce, and vegan Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Pour sauce mixture evenly over the ribs.
  6. Add fresh thyme or rosemary if using.
  7. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours.
  8. Once tender, spoon extra sauce over ribs before serving.

Notes

Sear ribs in a skillet before slow cooking for deeper flavor. Use smoky barbecue sauce for stronger profile. Add carrots and potatoes halfway through cooking. Ensure all sauces are vegan-certified.
