Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed Press tofu for at least 15 minutes.
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch For extra crisp texture.
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil
  • 3 tbsp honey Replace with maple syrup for vegan version.
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce Can use tamari for gluten-free.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes Adjust for desired spiciness.
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Press tofu for at least 15 minutes and cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Toss tofu with cornstarch until evenly coated.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add tofu in a single layer and cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and pour honey garlic soy sesame sauce over tofu.
  5. Cook 1–2 minutes, stirring gently, until sauce thickens and fully coats tofu.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container up to 4 days. Reheat in skillet to maintain crispy texture. Ideal paired with jasmine rice or as part of a Buddha bowl.
